About AC/DC

AC/DC are one of the biggest rock bands of all time. Founded in the early 70’s the band has traveled far and away from their home country of Australia and has been touted as one of the pioneers of heavy metal. The band went through a lot since their inception, and has gone through some line up changes, and in 1980, lost their lead singer after a night of binge drinking. While the band wondered if that was the end, they found a new singer in Brian Johnson and moved forward a year later to release one of the highest selling rock albums ever, Back in Black.

The band has continually toured the world for over three decades and continues to release music. Most recently they released the record “Black Ice” and went on to tour throughout the world for it, playing many larger venues to sell out crowds. The record reached the top of the charts and was eventually crowned #1.

AC/DC have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and over 70 million albums in the United States alone. The band has also been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. The band’s line up has changed a few times in the last twenty years, but has been solidified as five piece featuring Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd.

With the upcoming release of Iron Man 2, AC/DC released a new record entitled: AC/DC: Iron Man 2 and features a collection of tracks from the Brian Johnson and Bon Scott era of the band. The record was released on April 19, 2010 and stands as the official soundtrack to the film.

The band continues to live and breathe on the road, and still holds the record for the #2 best selling album of all time, right behind Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
